3/12/14 Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill on the south shore of Lake of the Woods:

The warmer weather has the fish grouping up, which makes for better fishing. We’re starting to see more walleye and perch again; the saugers are staying steady. The bigger walleye have been toward the bottom at 2 to 6 feet. Electronics are extremely helpful. The best lures all over the board are plain hooks — red, pink and blue, with jigs and jigging spoons. As the snow melts, we’ll see the fish move to shallower water. We’re constantly moving the houses to stay on top of the fish.
