Hunting

Lake of the Woods County is a sportsperson's paradise.

Over 70% of Lake of the Woods County is public land and is open to hunting. Waterfowl hunting is superb in our area. There are miles undeveloped shoreline and weed beds south of the resort and these areas hold large numbers of mallards, bluebills, and Canadian geese. Hunting on land for Canadian geese on private fields is also available.

12 miles south of the Arnesen's Rocky Point is the beginning of Beltrami Island state forest. Beltrami Island state forest is one of the largest state forests in Minnesota and encompasses over 669,000 acres. Whitetail deer and ruffed grouse hunting opportunities abound in this area.
